An improved method of processing the cytological material is the application of liquid phase cytology (ThinPrep®).
 The application of the technique significantly increases the diagnostic accuracy of the results.

Additionally, the technique permits from the exact same sample to perform simultaneous further tests:

 Immunocytochemistry application
 Detection and typing of HPV. Thus, the most dangerous types of the virus that are suspected of cervical cancer can be identified and separated.
Examination for Herpes Virus, Chlamydia and other virulence factors (eg Mycoplasma, Ureoplasma, etc.).
